Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

This policy explains what information Petwise collects when you visit petwise.site, why we collect it and the choices you have. We keep it short and try to describe what actually happens on the site.

Information you give us

If you send us a message through our contact page, we receive your name, your email address, the topic you choose and whatever you write. We use this only to read and reply to your message, and we keep it no longer than we need to deal with your enquiry.

If you leave a comment on an article, WordPress stores your name, email address, website (if you add one), the comment itself and your IP address. Your email address is never shown publicly. Comments may be checked by an automated spam filter.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting server records basic technical data when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This helps us keep the site secure and working properly.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which guides are read most and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser type and how long you stay. We use these reports in aggregate to improve our content, not to identify individual visitors. You can learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

Petwise may show ads served by Google AdSense and its advertising partners. These third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies allows it and its partners to show ads based on your visits to Petwise and other sites on the internet.

You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Where the law requires it, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown.

Advertisers have no influence over what we write. Our Editorial Policy explains how we keep advertising and editorial content separate.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Petwise uses cookies for analytics and advertising as described above, and WordPress may set cookies if you leave a comment (to remember your details) or log in. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features may behave differently.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information is shared only with the services that help run the site, such as our web host, Google Analytics and advertising partners as described above, or when the law requires it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. To make a request, get in touch through our contact page. We will reply as soon as we reasonably can.

Children

Petwise is written for adult pet owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Our guides sometimes link to other websites, such as veterinary and animal welfare organizations. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

If we add new services or change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
